Busch Gardens Tampa continues to celebrate the successful birth of a baby male gorilla by giving Facebook fans a chance to participate in a naming poll.
Fans will help choose from names that were inspired from dialects spoken around the world. Potential names for the one-month-old baby gorilla are Birungi, meaning “bringer of good things”, Bem, meaning “peace”, and Enzi, meaning “power.”
By simply logging on to the Busch Gardens Tampa Facebook page, fans can cast their vote for their favorite name. The naming poll will take place now through Monday, Jan. 26.
The baby gorilla was born on Dec. 16 at Busch Gardens to 12-year old endangered western lowland gorilla, Pele. Both Pele and baby, along with Busch Gardens’ other gorillas, can be seen in the Myombe Reserve habitat at select times throughout the day.
