Pinellas sheriff says budget increase would go to new pay plan

CLEARWATER — Eager to finish a structured pay plan for his employees and replace aging vehicles and radios, Pinellas Sheriff Bob Gualtieri made his pitch Tuesday for $20 million more than the target budget set by the county's budget office.
